The Essex Police Department is hosting its annual car show on Sept. 13, allowing the community the opportunity to show off their rare and unique vehicles. The show will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Shepard Memorial Park, 24 Martin St., Essex, MA. The event, sponsored by Beacon Bank, will host antiques, classic cars, muscle cars, motorcycles, and more! ESSEX — Two men and a dog who were rescued from chest-deep water at the mouth of the Essex River Friday night are expected to be okay, and Police Chief Thomas Shamshak Jr. and Fire Chief Christian Hassel are praising the teamwork and determination of rescuers.
